- Cleaning/Installation: If spills occur, blot as much of the stain as possible with clean cloth or paper towel. Apply mild soap and water to a clean sponge to remove the remainder of the spill. Allow area to dry. To clean the entire surface of the indoor/outdoor rug, spray with a mixture of mild soap and water and rinse with garden hose. The use of a rug pad is recommended
